About Alloy 600

Alloy 600 is a solid-solution nickel–chromium–iron alloy that serves as the general-purpose material of the nickel family. Its high nickel content gives near-immunity to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking, while chromium provides oxidation resistance in continuous service to roughly 1095 °C.

It is non-magnetic, readily formed and welded, and does not embrittle at cryogenic temperatures — a rare combination that keeps it specified across furnace, chemical and heat-treating equipment. DMK Alloys produces Alloy 600 blanks, bars and components for heat-resistant assemblies.
