About Alloy 601

Alloy 601 extends the nickel–chromium system with an aluminium addition that forms a tightly adherent oxide scale. The scale resists spalling even under severe thermal cycling, which gives the alloy its reputation in furnace and thermal-processing service up to about 1200 °C.

Alongside oxidation resistance it retains useful creep-rupture strength at high temperature and resists carburising and sulfur-free oxidising atmospheres. DMK Alloys manufactures Alloy 601 blanks and components for thermal-processing and hot-gas path hardware.
