About Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo
Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo (Ti-6242) is a near-alpha alloy designed for elevated-temperature service: tin and zirconium stabilise the alpha phase for creep strength, while a small silicon addition (in most bar and forging specifications) further improves creep resistance to about 540 °C.
It is the standard choice for compressor discs, blades and rotor hardware in the hotter stages where Ti-6Al-4V runs out of creep margin. DMK Alloys manufactures Ti-6242 bars, forged blanks and profiled components with the duplex heat treatments the grade requires.
